Hardieplank siding can be designed to imitate virtually any other siding material imaginable from cedar to stucco to brick. If you can t match the materials exactly choose a different siding option that complements the old material. Paint the house trim and the windows to match the color of the siding to tie everything together. Craftsman homes may use a combination of stone and brick cladding or brick and wood siding.

I would like to paint the siding to blend with the color of the house but my contractor is recommending that i paint the siding of the addition the same color as the trim white. But our addition was approved using wood siding with very tall windows all around overlooking the back yard. In this photo the board and batten and the brick are painted to match each other as well as the trim. Wood siding can be matched and re painted. Now matching bricks on a 30 year old house is a pretty hard task and it really seems to be getting harder and harder because so many of the larger brick companies are consolidating.

Our brick masons only have about four more feet on the front of this addition and all of the brickwork will be complete. A brick or stone facade works with shingles or vinyl siding and adds interesting.
