One idea we are currently exploring is the use of a very thick 1 4 inch layer of exterior polyurethane.

As previously mentioned most coating epoxies like table top bar top epoxy require thin pours of no more than 1 4 inch per application.
For a table that is to be 2 thick this would require 9 pours of epoxy including the seal coat.
In the video you will see that we used the seal coat as our glue to hold down the bottle caps so they are securely fastened to the surface and do not float to the top of the flood coat.
To ensure all of the gaps in between the bottle caps are filled use a float to spread the epoxy evenly over the top of the table.
Then build a barrier around the table with duct tape to prevent the resin from dripping out.
